Frank Cooney
Director - Cooney Architects Ltd. B.Arch, MRIAI, Conservation Architect (Grade 3) Frank Cooney B. Arch, MRIAI graduated from University College Dublin in 1985, and became a member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland in 1992. He founded Cooney Architects in 1994 with Patricia McCaffrey, and the practice now has offices in Dublin and Cavan employing sixteen professionals. Prior to establishing Cooney Architects, Frank was a project architect with Murray O’Laoire Architects for the prototype energy efficient Green Building in Temple Bar, and the RIAI Gold Medal winning Civic Park and Tourism Information Office at Arthur’s Quay Park in Limerick. He also worked with McCullough Mulvin Architects in Dublin and the Terry Farrell Partnership in London. Frank has completed a substantial number of professional development courses and participated in seminars in a range of areas including sustainability, conservation, specialist housing, urban design, practice management and contract administration. He recently completed the IPM project management course and the Dublin Civic Trust conservation of historic buildings workshop. He is a former tutor at the UCD School of Architecture and an accredited grade 3 conservation architect. |
