London Ruislip Stadium gets planning permission
- By Cooney Architects
The Ruislip Stadium, in London, was granted planning permission.
It is proposed to redevelop the Emerald Gaelic Athletic Association (GM) grounds comprising re-alignment of existing pitch and the erection of a new single tier stand, partially covered, an open terrace, car park extension and ancillary structures.
The proposed scheme involves the upgrading of the existing Emerald Grounds facilities, with the most significant change being the construction of a new tiered seating stand positioned along the southern edge of the existing playing field with incorporated changing facilities. Its location and proposed access arrangements from the site entrance along this edge of the site is welcomed given that it will be positioned alongside a collection of farm buildings within the adjacent site and thereby mitigates the proposed massing and vehicular traffic impact on the quality of openness to the surrounding Green Belt. It is also positioned away from the rear of nearby housing to the north of the site in order to maintain views of the Green Belt and prevent an overbearing massing relationship between the housing and proposed stand.
CooneyArchitects are engaged as the Architects in association with Tobins Consulting Engineers who are Project Managers and Engineers.
