Hill of Uisneach Fire Festival

  • By Cooney Architects

asdasdasd2016-05-06 21.36.29

“On Bealtaine (May time), a fire was lit on Uisneach to celebrate the coming of summer. The lighting of the Uisneach fire was the signal for igniting fires on many hills across the whole island creating a unique, fire eye, with the Uisneach fire being the pupil.”

Cooney Architects directors attended the Fire Festival held in May and witnessed the lighting of a thousand fires.  We are delighted that the Visitors Centre at Hill of Uisneach, one of our current projects (originally designed by Bosco Dillon Architects), will be completed later in the Summer.

Mr. Noel  Dempsey and Mr. Liam Mulvihill (on behalf of Coiste na Mi)

“Coiste na Mí wanted a Centre of Excellence that was functional, sustainable and which reflected the pride Meath people feel in their county and their teams.

Cooney Architects and their team delivered for us beyond our expectations. Since our official opening the response from all who visited or used the facility has been totally positive. The design of the building works remarkably well whether it is being used for training, meetings or for our administrative staff.”
